I'm thinking of buying a Weapon R Dragon intake for my Elantra GT (automatic). I would like any input I could get on this intake, and the ram air kits.

dont make the same mistake i did,... its not worth it
all you will get is a universal type kit that isnt even for hyundais
get kore's, mhp, or the upcoming shark racing CAI
i think AOS sells one too
anyways, dont get the weapon R
BTW, you wont be getting that pretty looking thing they advertise,... all you will get is an elbow with 3 rubber hoses,... i got the cold air ram kit
but if your hard headed about it,... i would be willing to sell it to you
my intake is practically new

KORE makes a short ram intake for the 2001 Elantra and will soon have a CAI for it.

The weapon R intake looks damn good and i heard its loud..the only bad thing ive heard is the foam filter..id say just get yourself another filter and you would be fine..

Most say get a CAI but lots of them are crap too...

Personally im holding out for Shark Racing's CAI

ok here's the deal with it....open your hood...take your stock airbox out and all that junk. Then strap a filter on the end of your MAFS. There you go!! You just mad the Weapon R Dragon Intake!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Weapon -R and the R is for RIIIICERR! that thing is a worthless peice of no good shiet. Like u said all it is, is a filter, a FILTER thats still in the engine bay! hahaha. and they ask 160 bucks for the pos. Blah!!!!!!!!!

you can get a Weapon-R intake shipped to your door for $160. from Summit with a great RETURN policy no shipping cost to give it back..

With a CAI if its crap your stuck with it and your are out of between 200-300 bucks not shipped

Im not knocking CAI but Weapon R's intakes arent all the crap they are made out to be..

If you are going all Show the weapon R looks ten times better than any CAI

If you want power get a CAI <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Obvously you haven't seen BatLords tiburon, He's got Kore cai and it looks ALOT nicer than anyother intake out there. Its CAI, I also have aos, And that too is a good intake, I'm simply saying why just by a fancy filter that is till in your engine bay when you can go down to any local rice shop and get one for 40 instead of 160.

If I was a judge at a car show I'd want to see some quality stuff in your car like a nice clean CAI with an Apex'i air filter... I wouldnt want to be looking at something like second rate half assed Weapon-R product just because it has pretty colors and it matches your interior. I wouldnt even use it for a hood prop or door stop as the foam might <i>buckle</i> under all that pressure.

BUT I STILL OWN ONE DAMNIT, and ive gotten attached to the poor bastard,... it has been modified lately with the help of random, so now it gives me a good amount of nice cold air

btw, i didnt buy it so it can match my engine,... at the time i thought it was the only intake out there for my car

I got their cheap ass coilovers, and if I didnt throw out my damn stock springs they would have been gone by now... That motherf***er rattles when i hit bumps and it drives me nuts bouncing everywhere.
