Okay I done all the searches and I've read them all, but I still don't understand how it all works. I cant find that damn book anywhere.
N.E.-way, can anybody explain to me how the air flows through out the system. can you tell exactly what parts I need and what they do in the system.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/evil.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

That is a very long and in depth explanation if you cant find the book order back issues of JAN to SEPT 2001 sport compact car the tech section has a multi part article called suck,squish,bang,blow which not only details turbo components and how they work but it goes through how an engine works, how to size a turbo for your motor, comparisson between turbo and supercharging and various other interesting topics the articles are very thorough and should give you most of what you need to know.

If you ever watch Hot Rod Tv on TNN, they sometimes talk about turbo's superchargers and nos. Sometimes they just have domestic old cars on there. But they give a good explanation, and a computer animation of how things work.

No I've never seen that so but I have read whats on the how stuf works page about turbo charging. It helped a little but not really what I was looking for most of that stuff I knew already. can anyone else help me out.

I posted that, and that thread has a good bit of info on it.

The air flows like this:
1-Air is sucked through the filter into the compressor side of the turbo,
2-the air is compressed, and sent on its wat to an intercooler, and then to the throttle body to the IM to the cylinders. It picks up gas like a cheap hooker on the way
3-the air is squished more by the piston, and when a spark is fired, the gas in the air ignites
4-the exhuast valves open, and the air leaves like a tree (bad joke, i know)
5- the air hits the turbine side which spins the compressor, sucking and squishing more air
6-the air, tired from banging gas hookers and slaving away at the turbine wheel heads out the exhuasst where it is catalyzed and cleaned and sent into the face of the car you just beat.

Or your motor blows up, lol.
