Hey all. Just got new tires on my 1998 Tib. Instead of the stock 195-55-15 EXPENSIVE ASS MICHELINS, I got "Grand Sprits" made by Kelly Springfield for 50 bucks. They're 205-50-15 too. Lower profile wider tread. ME LIKE the new handling too. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

kind of weird that wider and lower profile is cheaper, usually it is way more expensive. How much speedometer change did you notice?

talking new tires... you should read up on the Kuhmo high performance tires. They're getting great reviews and are cheap!! Hehehe...

so mouse... why did you go that? I mean you planning on getting new rims or sumthing? Cuz I heard changing the profile without going to a bigger rim will actually unbalance tires and could change alignment properties... just what I heard... dunno if it's true tho.

11% change in speedo. Plus i gotta discount from my uncle, that's why they're cheaper<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=1 id=quote>

HOLY CRAP!!!! 11% speedo change!?!?!? Seriously, there's something wrong other than your tires if your speedometer is off that much. You should only have a 1.6% too fast speedo change with the new tires.

Low&Show is right, it should only throw off your speedo by +0.97 mph at 60 MPH.

use this in the future...

I have a program I made for the site I was going to wait to put up, but I'll upload it when I get home.

It lets you enter in the original tire size and the new tire size and you can see all the differences <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.

See i always say i'm dumb! I figured, 11% change in the diameter, 11% change in the speedo.
??? At least I was thinking logically
