I friend of mine has a nissan truck that currently has a cassette in it. Below the cassette player there is an opening that is the exact same size as a standard cd player. Is there an easy way to add a cd player into this spot or would I have to wire a switch and install it that would switch back and forth between the two. Thanks for reading this and please reply.

A friend of mine had a little mazda pickup and he had that setup a tape deck and a cd player. They were both alpine and they were designed to work together. If you turned the tape deck on the cd player turned off and then it would work the other way also if you turned the cd player on the tape deck would turn off.

You could put a switch in there but the main problem you would fun into would be the wiring b/c you would have to run all new wires from the factory wiring harness or you could get the aftermarket plug in and run two sets of wires off that into each head unit. But you would also have to do the speakers as well run two sets of wires off each speaker. The best and probably easiest way to do it would be get a cd player that has to have a differnt head unit to run it kind of like a cd changer but a in dash one. Like the Eclipse 6 disc in dash cd changer that way you could have both. Just my .02.
