Which system are you geting, I recomend zex for easy install and safety, nothing special you need save for new plugs, get plugs 1-2 heat ranges colder, and NO PLATINUMS . start with a 55 shot and hit it @ 3000 rpm or more, you'll be fine. headers and exhaust will help more, read you plugs when you first use it to, as for fuel I changed the fuel pump, a regulator won't do squat if you can't give it the fuel.

I would like some help with my NOS system. I have the whole thing installed including the purge valve, but there is no where to run the bypass jet to the fuel pressure regulator. The system is different than my engine. The system did give me a ride when I tested it out, I punched it thru second and third and did 80 MPH in no time. The thing is that my air/fuel ratio gauge showed it running lean, since I was not able to add any more fuel with the bypass jet. My VDO fuel pressure gauge is reading 54 PSI of fuel at the fuel rail, what I need is more like 64 PSI right when I am at full throttle, so I need advice as to which pump to install and regulator. I have spent lots of money on this already and just want it to work!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks,

-John

What size shot are you running? on the stock fuel system NO more than a 55 shot. as for the bypass jet? what by pass jet where? There needs to be a vaccum line from the regulator to the manifold unless it is bypassed to the control box for the nos ( aka zex )the FPR will raise the pressure but it's not the same as larger pump. Also which system are you running? The stock regulator and a walbro gss342 pump ( talon turbo 97 ) is all the extra fuel you will need. If you are leaning out DON'T spray untill you get the fuel system figured out. Try a new fuel pump and see.

The way that a NOS kit works is that it runs the nitrous into one solenoid, into a nitrous pressure regulator, and thru another solenoid, into the main intake fan sprayer nozzle. The size of the main fan spray nozzle that you point into the throttle body is always the same size for my kit. The only thing that you can change is the jetting size of the bypass jet that is attached to the nitrous pressure regulator via a vaccum line. The kit says to install this bypass jet to a "typical vaccum ported type fuel pressure regulator" which Hyundais do not have, at least mine doesnt. This extra line relieves only a slight bit of nitrous pressure and would normally boost the fuel pressure to "60-70 psi". So as I run 53 or so psi now, I need another 10 psi. I am going to look at my fuel pump today and see if I can figure out a way to get some more pressure. Can I remove the stock pressure regulator? or alter it? I will look at it today, and let you know how it goes! And yeah thats why I got all this expensive ****, is to make sure I dont run the car lean, and have the proper fuel pressure. Thanks for the reply dude!! Tell me everything you know!!! Ohh and this kit is a 50 shot.

Although I received a bad controll unit for my Zex kit, Which they are replacing for free and they're hooking me up with a deal on the bottle warmer, I would say get the Zex kit. Brendan helped me out aon a few problems I had, Thats because I hooked it up like my old NOS kit. I paided 509 for my kit, you can get it cheaper on Ebay for like 400-450. Good Luck be safe.

JohnJacob You can't increase the psi since the stock pump cuts out @ 63 psi. You should try and get a new pump!!!! Also the Hyundai does have a Vaccum furel regulator if it is 95+ tell me the exact model and year. Once again I'm going to stress that you can't raise the psi in the fuel system if the pump can't pump gas @ the psi needed, you need a bigger pump!!!!! Leave the stock regulator in don't touch it. get the pumps here http://members.home.com/syclone/APE/fuelpump.html

Yeah I did figure out that my 2000 Hyundai Accent does have a vaccum operated fuel pressure regulator, and I hooked up the NOS lines just the way the installation booklet described and it did not increase the fuel pressure so I DO need a new fuel pump. I have been looking and many pumps are very expensive, and I am not sure of their compatability. These Walbro ones that you showed me look decent. But it only says that they fit up to the '99 Accent. Do you know if that pump will fit?? Well I am not in the biggest hurry, but I do want to finish this, so I will keep my eyes open. Thanks a lot man, any help you can give me is GREAT. I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent 3 door.

if you change the injectors you'll need a safc, and also 10% is noting, go to rc engineering and get some 440's

What injectors from other cars would work in the 2000 Hyundai Accent SOHC 1.5L? I heard of one guy putting Santa Fe injectors in his mitsubishi Mirage. Would that be overkill? I need just enough fuel and not too much to flood the engine. And I believe it was the same guy, but he had an old Scoupe Turbo on his Mirage and he talked about wiring in a 5th injector outside the throttle bosy, and connected to a switch in the driver's compartment so he could activate an extra flow of fuel when needed. It doesnt sound like a good idea to me, but if it works it works. Tell me what you think.

Damn that 5th injector is sounding mighty good right now....

he will prob be using some safc to control the fuel, remember too much fuel is not as bad as not enough, too little and pop goes the piston.

explain safc, and what kind of a setup this would use. I have some extra fuel injectors off of another car I could easily use to spray into the throttle body.

EVERYBODY JUST KEEP YOUR PANTS ON!!! I think I have it figured out!!! My engine was not performing well because the installation is different on a Hyundai, and you need to put the 50 shot jet in a different place than the system instructions say!!! SO I realized this today that I was shooting like a 200 shot, and it was so much nitrous it would almost stall the engine. So now this should all be in line, if I get this figured out I will help everyone else!! Nitrous kits for everybody!!! I will get my bottle filled tomorow since it is empty already. Thats another quick $40 everytime I need a refill. I guess it is worth it, later guys!!

Brenden, Besides noisy do you see any other problems with the new pump? How has your gas mileage changed? And how long did it take to install. Also could you post a link to the pump you bought. Thats the same one I will use for my Tib right?
Thanks again
Erik
