O2 Sensor question

Would the upstream O2 sensor being unhooked have a effect on tunability? I couldn't get underneath the car enough to unhook the down stream sensor and plug in a wide band sensor. So I took out and unhooked the upstream one and plugged in the wide band in its place....I noticed no difference in the car, so I was going to tune the SAFC and then put the upstream back in....
