Im doing that, except 16" rims, BlueGT. They should fit. I know some people with 17s on an elantra. 2klosho has 19s, but I am not sure if the wheel well is bigger/smaller then the Elantra. But with a 40 or 45 series tire, it should fit fine. But watch the potholes!
Here are the specs for the 2001 elantra. 195/60-15, 4 x 114.3 PCD, +40 offset. You can go to tirerack.com or tires.com to see some wheels that will fit. If you get 17's, get 215/45-17s. Those should fit.
Thanks a lot! The reason I don't want to go to www.tirerack.com or www.tires.com is that they I don't have the wheels I need. I am looking for really lightweight high performance wheels, preferably forged. Something like Racing Hart CP-035 or Volk Racing TE-37. If I can find them for more or less cheap.
So, 4doorGL, the stock offset is +40mm. Which offset should I get, if I want to go with 205/45 R17?
the pics I posted in an earlier post called brand new pics Ive got 205/40R17's with a 40 offset. I've lowered my car about 2 inches with little room to spare. The pics do not show the lower though. Remember do not go with too high of an offset because you dont want to get too close to the fender lips.
Whats the point in having a fast car if you cant drive it in other than a straight line.
