Ok, people!
What is with all the freaking code???
X3?
LC?
LC2?
RD?
RD2?
Can we get a sticky telling those of us who do not know what the heck all those friggen codes are for???

Or just post a name and year, like 02 Elantra GT?

And those who post things like “99'Sonata brakes in X3”

OK, 99 Sonata, got it, but I’m still wondering what an X3 is that it’s going on to!

All I wanted was the info on a decent brake upgrade for an 02 Elantra GT!

Those are Hyundai's model codes. First three are Accents (and now there's an MC on the market :D), the last two are Tiburons.

for your 2002 XD elantra your brake upgrade would be xg350 front caliper BBK. search around elantraxd or RDT for more info

Ok.
The Tiburons are RD, RD2, GK and GKFL, and the GKFL/2
The Elantras are J1 and J2 and XD
The Accents are X3 the LC and LC2.
I thought I gave up part numbers when I left the Ford truck dealership!

So would that be just the calipers?
The issue I think I have is what looks to be front rotors with insufficient mass to handle the heat.
I had the hope to get both the front and rear calipers, front and rear rotors (also assuming perhaps the hub that the rotors mount to, and the wheels to match the lug pattern) and I would assume the master cylinder to keep the pedal travel reasonable.

That is assuming the rotors, hubs and wheels fit in up under there!

I have attempted searching and my lack of search skills is embarrassing.
But at the least I have the codes, decoded?

RED AGT..

I think a slight modification should be used in the j2 part, there are j2 rd1 and j2 rd2's. and most parts wont interchange that well. rd1 is 96-august97 and august97-00 is rd2.

but thats probally too much info.. i guess if you want to get techical there are there are a rd1 rd2 rd3 j2's. rd1 being june 95-august96 and august96- august97 is rd2 and rd3 is 98-00. ugh.. so um.. nevermind all that.. its pointless. if someone askes about the j2 ill just answer them..:D

WTF?

RD (RD1) is a 1997 - 1999 Tiburon
RD2 is a 2000-2001 Tiburon
There is no such thing as an RD3
