Thought I would share this story since I consider it the luckiest night of my life. Driving home in april, me and my friend in a 99 dodge ram when another of our friends pulls up in his 1st gen eclipse turbo. At the time I was driving a heavily modded ford probe(please don't bring up probe bashing, not the point of this post). Anyways we decided to race since me and my friend in the eclipse had many weeks of trash talking. So we are going, I stayed with him except his car wasn't running the greatest and I think the engine was about to go but it still hasn't today. The speed limit was 30 and we were in a 4 lane road going about 95 down his hill when i look in the rear view and there are 2 sets of flashing lights and ahead 2 sets of flashing lights. 4 cops total. I was like sh*t, I am going to jail. I started to pull over with the cops still 100 yards away when my friend decides to run for it, he goes left at about 40 into a residentual and I go right into a commercial area. I go hide around this doctor building and my friend calls my cell and says there are cops everywhere in the neighborhood and he was in an alley, then he pulled into some guys back yard without being noticed and I notice cops all around so I tell him what is going on at my area. Anyways, cops looked around for about 2 hours, never found either of us and we both got away. Pretty cool, the next day I removed the door decals I had hoping that my car would blend in with other probes. I would never recommend running from the cops and I decided its best to just avoid the situation if at all possible. That was one scary night, I though I was about to choke on my heart in my throat

yah we figured that if either of us got caught then we know we wouldn't have ratted each other out, just said that the other person was a new face or something. But the costs would have been in the thousands for each I imagine, that is alot of good mod money too

Man.. that story got my adrenaline up.. If i were you in that situation, i would've had to change my pants/steam clean my seats. When ever cops are involved i get really nervous. I remember the time i was driving my old '87 pontiac 6000 ($65) through an intersection at about 45mph, caught some air over the crest of the road, and kept going. I looked behind me and there was a cop making the turn down the road towards me. So I turn down a side street hoping to lose him... Right before i was about to make another turn, I hear the sirens and see the cop fly around the turn with the blueberries and cherries goin. I pulled over and when i went to open my glove compartment to get the regis. i was shaking so bad that it took me afew tries to get the thing open. I ended up with a charge of careless driving: airborne at intersection, 3 points on my license and a $93.50 fine.

Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that you guys got anyway, but it's not the right thing to do. And you can't forget that we're here representing Hyundai, and that means we impress kids, like my brothers, wo often check out this site. And I don't want them running frm the cops once the get caught goin 70 in a 30 zone. You understand??? <img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>

I ran from the cops once and got away butI won't go into details. I'll just say it was a very stupid thing to do and it put a lot of people in danger. Don't do it, not worth the consequences.

I agree, it was a very stupid thing to do, I wasn't going to until my friend did and then once I decided to I held my decision. My adrenaline was flowing and I was very scared, I even had tears in my eyes. Thats why I don't ever race in town now. NEVER RUN FROM THE COPS. However I wasn't in my hyundai in was in my ford probe, in my hyundai I don't have a rep. with the local cops and I want to keep it that way, they recognized my red ford probe and kept an eye on me
