Hey guys Has anyone bought the pacesetter cat back exhaust or knows anything about it. I took it to a shop today, and the guy says it wasnt' going to fit my car but it specifically says "fits 97-99 tiburon" and mine's a 99. However I noticed that on my stock piping there Is a hole on each side at the end of the midpipe, while on the pacesetter there are 3 holes to put bolts through. They have some gaskets which maybe are used to help it connect. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Of course im gonna take it to a different shop 2morrow 2 try to get more info. The guy 2day was a real jackass

It should fit but either way it realy does not matter. You will be better off keeping the stock exhaust and saving your money til you can afford a real one.

Hey... congratulations!... it's official, we've sunken to the level of ALL the other performance boards... yay... we're just like Honda owners now!

WTF... The dude said he bought a Pacesetter system... how 'bout WE try and help...

Someone else had the exact same problem, Here's the link

You can also do a search in the Exhaust forum, (Exhaust Forum) over at Shark Racing there has been much discussion about Pacesetter, both good & bad.

Oh an BTW... having a Pacesetter system installed is in fact better than the stock exhaust

I'm with Cyber Greg on this one. I have the Pacesetter on my 2k, and it is better than the stockexhaust, sounds better too. I dyno'd my car and the torque curve with the Pacesetter exhaust comes in 1,000rpms sooner as well. It's proven that the Pacesetter is a good exhaust for the Tib, minus the hassle of getting it fitted.

As far as the quality of the exhaust, I was told when I got it that it wouldn't last a year. Well, almost two years later in Central Ohio weather (snow and lots of salt in the winter), there are no problems whatsoever with it. So, for what I paid for it (a total of just over $200) after it was fitted to my car, I came out ahead I would say.

Look at it this way - you get a better sounding muffler, true mandrel bent tubing, and it's larger diamter than the stock exhaust piping. How can that be no better than stock?

Oops

My appologies. I read it wrong. I thought he was still looking to buy the pace setter otherwise I would have not told him to save his money.

Again my most sincere appologies.

Thanx 4 the link cyber greg. Damn im kinda pissed off that pacesetter claims it fits 97-99 tiburons when it clearly doesn't. Since i bought off ebay im gonna hope that the muffler shop can switch out the 3 bolt flange to a two bolt. Im sure ill love the cat back, just gotta get it installed first.

I have the pacesetter on my 97 1.8L and it fit with no mods. It was exactly worth the money: better than stock, decent sound, but I know I'll have to replace it in a few years. It was a temp solution anyway, since I've been looking at a turbo for a while, but didn't have the money or time, yet . . .

Good luck with it. I'm glad I got mine, but once the turbo goes on, I'll upgrade for sure.

I would call Pacesetter and have them refund your money. It's totally their fault, they've wasted your time, and why should you pay any more? Fvck them!
