I’ve got a 2006 Sonata and have kept the miles down on it—I haven’t even broken the 100K threshold yet. I keep eyeballing that sweet new Santa Cruz but I’m hesitant to buy another Hyundai just because of the poor paint quality. My car is one of the many that have had peeling paint issues (it’s been doing it for years—and yeah I know my car is 16 years old). Does anyone know if Hyundai has stepped up its game in the paint department? The paint quality seriously would affect my decision on future Hyundai purchases because the peeling started early on—way too early to be an acceptable issue. I don’t want a repeat of this problem, as expensive as cars are now. They’re such good cars, it’s a shame that Hyundai would drop the ball on paint quality.
