So I finally got to go home this weekend, and painted my drums and calipers! Took me such a freaking long time though, I didn't know that most people take out one of the two factory pins that hold the break pads in place. After trying for an hour, I asked a friend, and he told me that. I've changed rotors and pads before, but didn't realize that they only had one pin.

I also got the head unit, finally! Sounds nice, even with the factory speakers.

Looks nice, what kind of paint did you use?

I actually used engine paint... resistant to 500 degrees. They didn't have caliper specific paint. I primered the front, they look a little better than the drums.

Did you take the rotors off? Is it spray paint?

Yup... I had the screws off before, when I put on the rims, so they just came right out. It's best to use a pressure screwdriver, most heads are gone buy the time you try to take the rotors off.

No prob... can get that paint at any pep boys. Anyway, it looks better with primer, at least it's easier to spray.

Hmmm...not sure about painting drums.

You sure did paint a lot of the brake unit though...more than just the caliper.

Yeah, I painted the guard right behind the rotor. Most cars only have the calipers painted, but I saw one car with that painted and it looked real nice, so I did it. Yesterday, some kid walking by the car stared at them while I was parking, and nodded. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
