I've heard that there is a possible performance difference between the 2.0 ecu and the 1.8 ecu, the 1.8 being better. I know the 1.8 intake cam has a small performance advantage but what about the ecu, can someone shed a little bit of light on the subject? I've searched the forums for 1.8 ecu but it errors out and I don't know what other terms would be related.[oh and sorry about the spelling I meant difference]

in a nut shell it makes the 2.0 run leaner. this only works for rd/rd2 tibs and j2 elantras.
So you are saying better gas millage is the only performance advantage?

the leaner the better in most cases. not saying lean it all the way out. but when trying to reach stoich, u want to be leaner than richer to it if that makes sense...

Grim's right, if the 1.8 has the 2.0 motor running leaner then gas mileage and power will increase.
