I am driving a 95 s-coupe and am getting some really bad mpg.
I have had the car about 6 months now andI have noticed that the tech data for the car states a 45l petrol tank, yet i cannot get more than 29l into the tank.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this, and if it is likely to affect my mpg?

Your gas gauge may be wrong. It says empty & you still have 1/2 tank

There is something i had never considered! thanks.
Is there any way of checking this out, apart from the obvious, driving until i run out...
As wouldn't that do a fair bit of damage to the engine?

how far are you getting everytime you fill it up?
Like are you only getting say 200 kms or 300? or even more?
My 99 Accent gets about 350-400 per fill of about 35-37L Depends on how I drive.
Check that out as well.

Recently I have been getting about 300k to 29l of fuel, which, for a car quite a bit smaller than my last one, isn't good.
I was concerned that something in the tank culd be reducing the quality of the fuel, therefore buggering with my economy. I am not to bothered about my performance, although it is nice to have it, I am more about mpg at the minute so anything is helpful, thanks!
