Well, there is a HUGE difference between the 97-2000 Tiburon and 2000 Elantra shifter vs the 2001 Tiburon and Elantra shifter.
Here's the pics:
(97-2000 on left, 2001+ on right)

Here's a pic of the 2001 shifter assembly (lifted from the B&M installation instructions):

No word yet, but I imagine they are not far behind since their sales numbers are strong.

i ordered the short shifter off of SR.com. biggest mistake of my life. it was 3 parts in a bag, and i had to figure out how to install it. i would recomend the B&M short shifter. it looks more compleate and the instalation looks easier. thats my input, hope it helps

For ordering, you can call 1-877-4rcfast (RC Performance Products). They are selling them for $119.95 plus shiping, and tax if you live in Ohio. You may get an answering machine...if so, leave your name and number and that you are calling about the B&M shifter and he will call you back (he runs his shop in the evening and weekends, but there is usually someone there to answer the phone).

He has a couple(I believe 1 for the 97-2000 and 1 for the 2001+ left. . . I took the pictures of the remaining shifters he has in) in stock now, and is expecting more (he orders direct from B&M).

Yes, and yes - but the shift boot will sag a little since the shifter height is less than the stock shifter (just like the SR and MHP short shifters do).

OK, I just don't want to see any metal when I put my stock shifter handle and boot on it.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>
Thanks.

sorry fellas, I already got the first dib on the shifter frm RC Performance. I bought it today.
Everyone else that sell b&m shifter says they have to order it. Guess what, they're in back order.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0>

you can try speedstate.com. they're from Canada.

As far as the benefit of the shifter, the throw rate when you shift through gears are shorter.

there shuldn't be much. I ordered few stuff from speedstate and it wasn't so bad. I leave in Illinois. It only took them three days for shipping. Including customs.
