yup, felt a bit better, and decided i could drag myself out to the garage today. (guess the ER visit yesterday actually helped)

this is my $15.50 beta2 motor off ebay with under 30k miles on her.

now to the pics.

sad thing is i did not clean any of that up, thats how i pulled it apart.

one thing i hate about the beta is the oh so bulky intake manifold,
no wonder head gasket repalcement is a PITA
thats a beta2 manifold, its quite a bit larger then the beta1 manifold i have on my car now. but from comparing them, i believe the bigger beta2 would actually create more power.

and headgaskets on betas are some of the easiest ive done, only takes about 2 hours to do. compared to my turbo probes i own, thats less half the time it takes for those.
$15.50!!!!!!!! lucky bastard!

ebay sucka!!!!!

im surprised i got it so cheap, wasnt listed wrong or anything, just no one tried to out bid me, had to drive a **** load to get it, but it was worth it.
was it a person selling it or a business?
a guy, he had a 05 accent he was gonna swap it into, but just lost intrest, so i got the motor, and close to everything needed for the swap. even got two exhaust manifolds, a tibby clutch and flywheel, engine harness, a few different motor mounts off other beta's i assume, and bags of other stuff

figured so you could actually see what i mean, i grabbed my spare beta1 manifold out of my garage's 2nd floor, and compared it to the beta2. by weight alone, the beta2 is probably close to twice the weight of the beta1. the beta1 mani i would indeed consider light, but the beta2 definitly has some weight to it.

holy ****...thats a huge difference eh.....post some pics of that ride'n lawnmower in the last pis too....it looks interesting...lol
what kinda work are you doing on this?....just cleaning it up or some internal work?
only internals im messing with other then new rings and bearings are the 1.8 pistons to bump up the compression.

the mower.... well thats one of my toys, it pushes 5 psi through a mitsubishi tdo4 turbo off a 3000GT. no bull, that reading is off an actual boost gauge.

ill post a few pics in another thread ill start now just for the mower.
that beta 2 intake manifold has a big ass chamber in it.

i agree, its also like twice the weight of the beta1 mani. im pretty sure from comparing the designs that the beta2 definitly flows better. but i doubt ill be able to use it on my tiburon sadly. good thing is that the beta2 mani's sell for 125 bux easy on NT :)
since u have a 2.0l beta 2 open mabe try to find a 1.8l beta 1 and compare the too with pic, i would like to see the differnce of the pistons???

well to give you an idea of my current motor, went to the track yesterday, heres my best slip!

not bad considering i have very few actual engine mods and did that on 25 pound 17's with bald tires.
