Ok, I understand that piggy back is altering the new computer with the old one. I think... Anyway, I'm doing the swap at the end of this month I can't wait, however, I'm in such a rush to get everything together I heard that you can piggy back the 1.8 Beta into the 1.5 Alpha. Right? So exactly how is this done so I can attempt to do this swap in somewhat of a smooth process? The motor I'm swapping is the '98 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 DOHC 16 valve. Do I need the computer out of that exact year? Can I use the 97-99 Tiburon computer? It is the same motor externally. PLEASE, somebody help me!

The Tib ECU should be fine and you will not piggy back it with the 1.5ltr ecu you will replace it instead.

you will need the 1.8 computer. a piggy back is a whole seperate unit that works with your ecu, such as the apex-i safc. this may help you out but it is not necessary for things to run smoothly with the swap.

Cool; so I don't need to piggyback anything? Another question; can I use the same wiring harness or don't things match up? Thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated

Thanks guys Today I took off my intake manifold to port it out. I'm getting my income tax back in like two weeks, as soon as I get that, I'm buying the few parts I still need to do the swap. My friend is in charge of the wiring; so we're gonna have to figure it out ourselves. As soon as we do, I'll update everybody on how we did (what wires needed lengthened) or whatever. Thanks anyway, I appreciate it
