I have an auto tiburon and recently came into some new money (im in college, a quarter is new moeny to me anyway, i wanna get an intake, just a cone filter, not cai. we get flooding around here so it wouldnt be a good idea....well, there is a sensor that goes into the filter box on the car, i think its a temp sensor. Where would i stikc that if i get a cone, would i have to drill a hole in it or somethin? any help would be greatly appreciated! When I had the cone on the mafs, I had the intake temp sensor(of which you are referring)tapped into the side of the filter. I have since moved it into the rubber elbow that houses the hoses for the emissions equip(looks like an octopus on crack<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0>).

When u say the part that looks like an octipus on crack (btw i do like the analogy) do u mean the little part of plastic intake that has the breather attached to it? or is it another part?

if you have the money, then buy the whole intake. If you are worried about flooding, then put an AEM bypass valve. They made that for that reason.

No need to drill. Simply place the temp sensor inside the cone with the wire coming out the back. Wiggle the whole thing on and tighten.

If you do not want a CAI then get yourself a 45 deg elbo. Attach it to the flexable pipe that runs to the stock air box and then put the filter on the end of that led up to that little vent that is designed to scoop air into the factory intake. All you have to do is drill one hole in the new pipe big enough to put that lil rube piec that holds your stock sensor and put it in. The secure the new pipe by making a steele bracket<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

thanx for all the tips, i got it done..just drilled the bottom of the cone filter (u know the rubber part) and shoved it in there...looks great, sounds even better. just a few more things and the engine bay will be done....<img src=/images/forums/snitz/evil.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
