Alright, here is the story:
I right now have a 2K elantra AUTO. I was thinking of an auto-5spd conversion but now i have a more devilish plan .
Ok, right now my hood got damanged by some fool and my kit in front got a little messed up, slightly falling off, cant tell with the naked eye. I didn't make a police report because i wasn't gonna get the hood replaced but was planning to get ram air and just a body kit (solves the problem) but now i was thinking of trading in my car, put back the air box etc. Now my friend got his car all repaired from insurance without no problem, is that possible that i can go in and say i want my **** repaired no questions asked??
i am also still paying for the car but ofcoarse i want to trade in the car for the xg350 base model(i dont want the extras) and start workin on that. now my question is if this is all possible and how they trade would work, and how the whole insurance thing will go, and will hyundai do one of these because i took the lettering in the back off? the car only has 21K miles on it so its not like its been run alot. i'll be doing this as soon as this night job comes thru and i work there for like 1-2 months and i'll have 2Gs saved, enough for down payment.

All i need to know is how all this will work and any suggestions since i'm still young and have never been thru any of this. any advice and information would be helpful. THANKS

or trade it in for a 2k1.5 Elantra GT 5spd.
Which do you think is better for a performance minded 19 year old male

ummmm can somebody lock this post i just talked to my old mechanics teacher this morning and he says just get the whole engine redone, new heads, pistons, etc. and he has a friend who will hook me up for cheap, which is an offer i CAN'T resist. so i'm just gonna keep my baby and get it repaired and in the summer time when its 5spd, gonna haul out the engine and make it better.
sorry to waste everybodies time

I don't have any experience at all with transmissions swaps, but would a manual transmission fit factory like, on an ex auto tranny car? I know the quality of the job done is very important, but I mean, is it possible to achieve factory quality in assembeling a different type of transmission?
