I'm in a situation where the paint from the car's door handle is peeling off. When I first purchased it 2 month ago, it was just a minor scratch, so I didn't tell anything to dealer. But as time passed, this paint started to peeling off and now that surfaced is almost 1.5 CM in diameter (which really looks ugly).

I read the paint warranty from the booklet, and it says,

quote:
Paint repairs are covered for the first 36 months from the date of original retial delivery or date of first use or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Some minor cosmetic imperfections that are visible at delivery are covered for 12 months from the date of original retial delivery or date of first use, or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

So, if I take my car to dealer, are they actually going to "repaint" the door handle? Or just give me crappy touch-up paint?

Depends...with my hood (it had a rust spot where it was hitting on the frame...only like after two months) they sent it to their body shop for two days...when it came back the rust spot was gone, but it was touched up with really crappy paint that didn't even match... grrrr... Take it to them and if it bad enough they might go ahead and just give you a new door handle. If it doesn't seem that bad, they might just repaint it.

Well...supposedly they couldn't do it at the dealership. Any body work is done by a specific body shop that the dealership uses everytime. I think they had to do more than just touch it up though. I think they actually had to do a little body work after they removed all of the rust. My dealership is actually really cool... IE tonight while they are fixing a couple of things, they are putting on my a/f gauge, and oil pressure gauges...

I went to my dealership and all they did was give me a little jar of touch up paint and told me to goto town on it.Bastard's i even got the extented warrenty for paint protection and all they gave me was a little jar. They didnt even give me clear coat.So i went to this paint mixer i know and he hooked me up.After i got done airbrushing the touch up i took a copy of the recipe to the dealership and told the manager what they did to me.He gave me the money back for my supplies and a little extra for the time i had to spend doing it
