maybe you could help me out. can i swap the 1.8 or 2.0 out of the elantra or sonata pre-95. i want to put in my 91 scoupe and like to know if the computer from the elantra would fit or sonata(5spd). also do i need to change any of my wiring for splices of different sensors. finally you said i think that the 1.8 and 2.0 are the smae except the bore and the head on the 1.8 is smaller. also can i swap the 2.0 head on the 1.8. thanks and keep on tuning.

As far for knowing if the motor will fit I don't have the answer to that. It's been a long time since I was under the hood of a Scoupe. And for the compatiable wiring I would say No on that cause it is 2 totaly different motor company's.

But Iam sure someone will read this that could let you know if in fact the motor will bolt up and what you would need.

i don't understand what you mean about different motor companies unless you used the 4g63 out of an eclipse or cloan. also with the heads you didn't answer that question and finally would i use the 1.8 with balance shafts or not. let me know because i can get them for a nice price. thanks and you have one nice ride. keep on tuning

If you can get the 2.0 bottom I would go with that, as for the Heads they are exactly the same. Hope that answers your questions.

Hey there whats up??

Well i did the 4g63 turbo mitsu swap in my car as well and i can tell you a few things. I know for sure that the engine can be made to fit in the scoupe somehow cause i was talking to the guy that runs overboost.com ages ago and he told me they did a 2G turbo talon engine in a 91 scoupe and busted low 11's in it. Now im not sure how it fit and how much mods they had to do.

I know for my 92 Sonata everything was a straight swap/plug in. 1G 4g63 bolted right in place alone with tranny and even using talon cv's. The turbo talon computer was a direct plus in to my stock Sonata harness as well.
Now i know the same set up i have would drop into the pre 96 Elantras92-95 cause it was the same engine but 1.8 as mentioned above. Now i dont think the wiring would work on the scoupe cause i think it wasnt based on the non turbo talon like the elantra and sonata.

No my suggestion is to swap in a turbo talon motor 90-91 6 bolt(stronger) and buy something like a SDS www.sdsefi.com stand alone electrnics, it will cost you about 950 U.S but you will have the car running right with no worries about stock harness working etc etc.
You going to have to buy the turbo ecu 200 bux a MAF 100 and a good fuel managment system like an APEXI which will run you like 300 U.S so thats over 500 U.S and not guarante u will run perfect.

Now with the SDS stand alone you dont need a MAF cause the SDS set up eliminates that. No need the talon ecu cause the SDS comes with its own ecu , harness sensors, coil pack etc etc everything u need man and its a fuel and ignition contril unit . Biggest bonus is that it has super good tuning capability with no lap top needed.

Check out the sds site u will see what i mean.

Hope i helped a little bit .

91 S-Coupe the computer will fit if you change the motherboard to the scoupe case the wiring connections ar the same but if you put in a 4G63 you will certainly need to change the wiring harness so the sensors will simply plug up. To match up the heads see if the head gaskets will fit fit, if not the head is NOT the same. I do NOT beleive the blocks are the same from the 1.8 to the 2.0 unless the 2.0 is NOT DOHC 4 valve.
