The best way to find out, since you already have moveable boxes, is try different positions back there. Some say up, some say back, some say forward, yadda yadda yadda. Every car is different. Personally I plan on building fiberglass enclosure in the rear pockets with a Image Dynamics 10 per side. Also, if your previous fiberglass box split, it was built wrong. Fiberglass is a very powerful tool in the audio world and has been proven over the years to be great for sub boxes. I can try and find you some kickass links on fibergalss box building if you'd like.

Actually it depends on the placement of the subs. Best way is to make a temp. box and play with locations while having the car RTA'd. The RTA will tell yout he SPL in each location you use. Usually facing back gives you more bass, but you are gonna have mega bass with a hatchback anyway, since it gives you a added bass boost so to say compared to a trunk... ive decided to scrap the fiberglass project until later, because I need the car ready to go back to school soon. So, Im making a box for 2 10s behind the seats with amps, eq, xover, and caps on one side and woofers on the other. I'll post pics soon if anyone wants to check it out.

They woouldnt be faced at each other, they'd be angled up towards the hatch. And I was going to rebuild the floor cover anyway, so where the sub box sits in the corner, I would screw it to the floor.
