Hey, hi im new <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0> anywho. Tomorrow im going to see if i can pickup one of the new tibs. my current car(93 prism pos) has 200k+ and well its time for a car that is fun to drive.

My question is about the turbo kits that are out. Since the 2.7 is a v6 IMO it would be best to dual turbo charge it with smaller turbos for the improved power on the low end.

Does anyone know if their is a dual turbo kit out there? If so what kinda power/tourqe gain am i looking at?

Also, the 6 speed manual in the new tib. Does anyone know what the power rating is on that thing? Meaning how much can it take before it breaks <img src=/images/forums/snitz/evil.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>.

I wish hyundai was cool like subaru and warranty turbos :D.

Oh well the new tib looks like alot of fun. just wondering what i can do to it once i buy it ;)

well the tibby is quite new and the aftermarket people haven't tested the 6-speed to the bone yet. we'll see shortly how much it can take before it breaks..<img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

I believe there is a turbo kit for the BETA engine that this website is selling. Not sure about the V6 TT. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/oogle.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

According to UFB...they are developing a twin turbo kit for the Sonata V6. Hyundai told me the Tuscani's V6 is the same V6 as in the Sonata. Possible?
Are there any Bodykits, or aftermarket suspension available for it yet?
I checked one out at a dealership Friday. I really like the low windows. Fresh new design.

there are lots of aftermarket springs and body kits available in korea, its just that we gotta contact them and bring them over.

There is alot of aftermarket available but the problem is getting it to the states. But don't worry it will be here soon enough.

As far as the Turbo questions. The turbo kit that we sell as of right now will not fit the new Tib. It will take different intercooler piping etc. But we will have it available soon.

A TT turbo set up in the V6 would be sweet but I do not know if the motor will handle boost as well as the Beta does. So if that is your plans you may want to reconsidder and possibly look into the 2.0 tib instead.

Also we will not know about the tranny until we get our hands on one. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

I hear the V6 is a bit hard to turbo charge it due to the aluminum blocks that might melt. Also there was a talk in Korean site 'GKMania' that balancing the engine is a bit harder than I4s. My bet? I am gonna stick with I4 and turbo it 3 years later =) I hope this helped you a bit <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

ok cool, so with the turbo kit on the 2.0 what am i looking at horsepower wise? how much does the turbo kit add?

Depends on the kit and how much boost you run.

With the ballistic stage 2 kit we sell it will be possible for you to be over 300hp. Really though the sky is the limit if your budget is too.

Dragon fab has 2 600hp engines in their Tib but I do not suggest a methanol cooled turbo for a daily driver.

over 300 HP in a tib huh...not bad

wonder what the 2.7 will get...hmmm im going to go test drive a 2.7 today and possibly buy it. ill post again in a few hours.

Well for the McIntyre kit. During the advertising period which was short. Just for everyones information.

On a single 2.0L BETA, the car was running 12's with no internal mods, or nothing. Just the kit bolt on.

Just thought I would throw that in there.

that 300 hp is wheels peep, that is important

stock is 140, but dynoed at wheels, stock is like 110-120

that is like a triple increase...

stage one for a little less is about 250 whp, double.

stage two, they said you are looking at mid 5 second 0-60s on street tires. very commendable and whoopie the ass on almost any street car out there

do you guys know of anything other than a turbo kit that can boost performance for the new tibby v6? like a filter or a cai, not exhaust...also, somebody was talking about a turbo bolt or something?

well dont forget about the throttle body, high cams.. a supercharger perhaps... a hyundaiperformance.com sticker, good for 0.000000000001 hp increase...<img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>.. an aluminum flywheel...lower springs for better aerodynamics.. plus alloy wheels for light rotational mass.... thats all i can think of right now... cheers

oooh, a supercharger sounds nice, but weren't people talking about not knowing whether the v6 tibby engine could handle the power? When will it be kid tested and mother approved? What's the boost on the supercharger anyways?

The supercharger will be tested once my damn dealership gets my damn GS-R in. The guy keeps delaying!!!

Last visit he was trying to talk me out of the Tiburon and put me into a 1997 BMW 328ic.

I m putting my foot down tommorow night!

Alright...heh...anyone corrrect please if I am wrong on something, and dont be an ass about it.

1. I dont see why you all wanna twin turbo the v6, twin turbo usually is not the best, most twin turbo setups like the rx7 and supras tend to move to a single turbo. Twin turbo is for driability usually and single is for high horsepower, and we all know ya want the high horsepower.

Also, if anyone ever provided a kit, I know it will be a single turbo setup, Twin turbos is just more apain in the ass to tune, plus it will generally cost more.

I have not found out yet, but I heard a rumor that the new 3rd gen tiburon has a returnless fuel system. if this is true, you can easily spend $2k in making it a reutrnable fuel system. I am jsut guesing, that what I heard it cost to make the ufel system retrunable on the Celica GTS.

Subaru warranties the turbo they put on the car stock, if you got and upgrade it , which is along the same lines as you would be doing with the turbo in a tiburon, then they would no longer warranty that new turbo. and yes you would want another turbo, when there is a chance for more power, I know you will taker it, we all will, special with awd, you would wanna boost the power. I think tthe wrx gets about 180whp ?
