I was looking at some pics of the Honda S200(very cool looking car) on ebay and I saw one that had a custom CAI. It had the filter on the end like every one of them has and then it also had a normal sized K&N filter mounted inline halfway between the intake and end of the CAI. If you did this could you expect any more power from what a CAI would normally give you

I would think that you'll actually see even less power as it creates more of a resistance to the air flow.

Could you post that picture?

Here you go 4doorgl. Go down to the bottom and click on the engine pic.

It looks like that's just a cold air extension. That way the engine is pulling from the engine bay, but when the weather is good they put that extension on and they get some cold air too.

yea it works, just still kills the whole point to have the OPEN FILTER in the engine bay, the area of the open filter picks up more air then it does where the pipe goes in

I don't know if this is a stupid question because I have no experience with AEM valves, but could that filter be something related to it? Like a bypass intake to prevent Hydrolock?

Zman-

I hope so. Otherwise, it would totally defeat the purpose of a CAI.

That first filter would suck in air from the engine compartment, and the "extension" would suck in cold air.

I guess he could call it a "luke warm" intake rather than a CAI! *lol*
