I thought that 97's had independent rear suspension meaning that there is no rear axle. Are you saying that you will have to change the "hubs" out for different ones. The conversion gets expensive when you have to find calipers. This conversion may even need new brake lines both reqular and emergency brakes. I was thinking about performing this myself. Possibly using brakes off a tibby. I personally have never seen a Elantra with rear discs. Both of my 99's have drums. I know that it was offered in an option package but again I have never seen it. BTW junkyards will be a good source for those calipers/hubs.
