sup guys. I just took my power steering and a/c belts off today. I haven't gotten to drive y car really, but i started it up, and the idle is like at 1000 rpms (actaully like a hair above 1k) it used to idle at like 800 rpm i think, and ive just had a timing belt put on, so the timing should have been adjusted i suppose. What im wonderin is, does the car HAVE to idle at 800 rpms...and so the timeing would need to be re-adjusted if i kept the belts off? Or is it... the timing is JUS concerned with the pistons moving and the plugs firing and the lifters/valves opening and closeing...and since i took the a/c belt off..the timing is STILL ok, its just theres less resistance so it allows the engine to spin faster when at idle? (and if this is the case, then thats a good idea of the power ive freed, i guess) The car still runs fine...it just idles higher. So, anybody know which it is? thanks!
