I also did this "mod" I think it's a mod. Anywho. I dunno about horsepower. Maybe better throttle response, but the engine sound is sweet. It does make it sound at least a little more mean.

Snoop - To remove your resonator....

Pop your hood. You'll see the narrow air duct opening right near the front of your hood. next to the battery. *kicking myself for not taking pics* Anywho. There are two bolts/screws that hold that piece down. *WAIT! WEBTECH* Here is a pic.

There is a downside to the way I removed my resonator, I took the entire air duct off. That means my air flow is less inhibited, but i'm taking in warmer air than i was before. I had ment to extend a piece of dryer hose or flexible exhaust back to the front of the car, but haven't gotten around to it. Some people just remove the resonator and DUCT TAPE the hole where it normally connects. Good luck! If you have anymore questions just ask!

Ah the ricer way of getting "HP". There is no way in hell you could gain anything just by removing your resonsonator? Cmon guys, build a cai or leave it stock so it will still suck in cold air. Yea the engine might sound meaner... But that won't make you go any faster, remember guys apperiance doesnt equal performance. If you want any hp watsoever. Perhaps like 1-2. then slap a cone filter on the end of your mafs and take all that crap out cuz you won't need it anymore. heehee

Its underneath your battery plate. Well atleast mine was anyway, I had to take my plate off to get to the screws.

Yes, take the battery off the plate, unscrew the plate, and you will see the intake resonator shown in the picture above.

I took mine off for about a week. It sounded pretty good, but I was sucking in hot air, so I just very carefully sealed off the holes inside the duct and put it back on. It helped a little bit, but not much.

Whoa there buddy. I wasn't saying that I gained horsepower from the mod. So STFU. I like hearing the engine noise. I LIKE IT. I never said it made me faster so STFU. If you can find a point in my post where I said it was benificial power wise then i'll shut up. In fact I believe that I said it WAS NOT all that benificial
quote:
There is a downside to the way I removed my resonator, I took the entire air duct off.
