Hey was wondering if anyof you have replaced the radio on the 99-01 sonatas and if so how did you get around the rounded corners in the dash opening? Im htinking of rounding the corners of my radio surround but thats a pain in the ass. Yeah im lazy <img src=/images/forums/snitz/approve.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>. But really any help would be appreciated or howevre you spell it<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

do you have the double din deck (cd and tape)? if so, wouldn't they sell an aftermarket adapter kit? i don't know. the stereo is the last thing on my list of things to change. speaking of which....

No I have the single DIN tape deck<img src=/images/forums/snitz/disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> Thats why I am looking to replace it. HAte having to use an adapter to listen to cd's<img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

snipe you should check out www.hmaservice.com they literally give you the instructions to take apart the WHOLE car, or at least most of it. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

I replaced my radio and got the dash kit and harness from Cruthfield for just over $20 shipped to my house. The kit even said how to take the console apart. The trick is to disconnect the heater control cable down by the bottom of the glove box. This will allow you to completely take out the center section of the dash where the radio is.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

I got my adapter and wiring harness from circuit city for around $20. And yes make sure you disconnect the wire completely it makes it easier <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0> and oh yeah becarefull the dash scrathes easily <img src=/images/forums/snitz/disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> lol got a few little ones in there
