I would agree with paltask14c. You shouldn't have any problems damaging your transmission if you know what you are doing. You might have more trouble with an automatic. But doing this trick with a 5-speed shouldn't be a problem as long as you use the clutch properly. Also, make sure you shift to 2nd gear if you're going 20 mph - because 1st gear slams can damage syncros.
I haven't tried this trick before, but I have experimented with 5-speeds quite a bit and they are fun.
I had some fun in my Mustang doing a fishtail maneuver... kinda a really fast U-turn while peeling rubber. I wish my Hyundai was rear wheel drive.
