Info on Rotora's new GK Big Brake Kit

Fully cast and CNC machined aluminum caliper to ensure the highest quality; Rotora's high performance brake system enables superior controlled braking while improving overall brake pedal feel to ensure equal distribution of weight transfer when braking. To achieve this proportional front-to-rear brake bias, the clamp load/force is increased to the optimum level of the caliper while utilizing the stock brake master cylinder. Rotora´s high performance brake system includes a set of 1 or 2 piece cross-drilled and slotted vented rotors (295-355mm, depending on application), a set of high performance calipers (2-6 pistons depending on application), carbon steel (S45C) mounting brackets (if applicable), Rotora street performance pads, and stainless-steel braided front brake lines (DOT approved). All Rotora brake systems are direct bolt on replacement of the stock brake system with minimal modifications required.
Optional upgrades include Rotora's NAO Ceramic formulated competition pads: an optimal sports pad for endurance/track performance, while providing higher coefficient of friction which work exceptionally well under high temperatures.

FEATURES and BENEFITS:
-Rotora´s two piece aluminum, heat-treated calipers provides improved pedal feel while increasing the clamp load/force to ensure equal front-to-rear braking.
-Differential piston bore sizes (depending on application) tailored to each specific application.
-Rotora´s high street performance pads designed to improve stopping distance while keeping the squeal to a minimum. The ideal pad for all-around performance.
-Stainless steel braided brake lines prevent brake hose expansion under pressure and improve stiffer pedal feel. All Rotora´s steel braided lines are DOT approved and pressure tested to 3,000 PSI to meet FMVSS-106 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) standard.
-Cross drilled/slotted rotors to ensure equal heat dissipation for continuous hard braking to resist warping and brake fade while relieving the rotor and brake pad surface free of excess brake dust and debris.
-S45C carbon steel mounting brackets (depending on application) with steel studs to provide added strength.
-Direct bolt on replacement to the vehicle´s original suspension.
-Larger rotor surface area compared to stock rotor to utilize the leverage and increase brake torque.
-All systems are ABS compatible.
-All pistons with dust seals.
-All Rotora high performance brake calipers are factory pre-installed.

You guys would be better off with the Precicion Brakes Combination "D", unless you main goal is looks. http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/custom.html
The 13" brakes are actually too big for a road-going Tib without also going with larger rear brakes and larger master cylinder. The proportioning will be thrown all out of whack. I'd bet the 11.75" brakes will actually stop faster, and they'll fit behind some 16" rims and any 17" rim. They also weigh alot less due to the smaller diameter and two-piece design with aluminum hats. The Rotora kit has one-piece rotors with steel hats. In addition, the Wilwood calipers have been around for years, so you can get a variety of pad compounds and brands. I'm planning on doing some autocrossing, and I'm getting the Combo "D" brakes.

If you MUST have 13" rotors, you can look at Combo "E". It comes with two-piece rotors and 6 piston calipers for $1850. So, you can get one-piece rotors with 4-piston calipers for $1700, or two-piece rotors with 6-piston calipers for $1850. Or, you can do like me and get the 11.75" two-piece rotors with 4-piston calipers for $1300.

Hey cobra and fixer, I'm getting 18"x7.5" TE37s with +40 offset. Do you think those will clear a 14" (355mm) big brake kit w/ 2-piece rotors and Wilwood 4-pot calipers front and back? It's from Precision Brakes. I hope so... so scary... :??:

I don't think Volks are high disk...maybe I'll check though. As for testing before mounting the tires- they are shipped to me mounted and balanced so no go. I'll just keep my fingers crossed. They're +40 offset so not very much lip so I think the calipers should clear.

One question- would 2-piece rotors vs. 1-piece rotors push the caliper out any further?

For the price of Volks if you want something light with clearance check out SSR Competitions.

If you install 14" rotors on the front without upgrading the rears to at least 12.5", you're going to have serious brake lockup problems. The fronts will be doing all of the work.
