What model? What year? I have a 1998 tib and haven't run a cable yet, but some peeps are going to ask. If you have a first gen I believe there is a grubber grommit right above / behind the brake pedal. I think. Then there is one if you take apart your glove box. www.hmaservice.com/webtech Might find some good stuff there too.

I have a 2001 Tiburon and am having the same problem with finding a place to run the power cable from my amp to my battery. Does anyone know of any good entry points throught the firewall..

Thanks,

KC.

Im pretty sure on the 2nd gen tibs, u have to drill a hole through the firewall. If ur gonna install everything urself, just go to a local shop & ask them to run the power.....or at leatst drill the hole.....shouldnt be over $20

drill? DRILL?! No. put your drill away. Drilling cost an Fxtreme member a new set of fuel lines. All you need to do is look harder. There are probably at least a couple dozen holes of varying size in the firewall. The only thing to consider is what is filling them. Some have nothing but they are hard to spot, being covered. Some are filled tight. Some are filled with lots of extra room around the cables. The grommet around my speedo cable was PLENTY big enough to pass at least 2AWG, maybe even 0AWG. Get a flashlight and look at your firewall. Anywhere anything goes through it, is a potential hole, predrilled, and probably with an excellent grommet already installed! All you have to do is cut the grommet to pass the cable!

I ran the wire from my battery under the cover inside the wheel well, then take off the piece of plastic that contains the fuse box door. There is a piece of insulatin over the metal, pull it back and there is a hole behind it run the wire through it. The run it under your door sill then behind the plastic in the back. Then up through thespare tire well. Hope this helps.

If you want to drill, which is what I did, look under the steering column where the master brake cylinder would be on the outside of the firewall. I drilled the first hole then had to drill one more because the firewall has 2 layers in this location. I made my second hole very carefully making sure I would punch a hole in the cylinder outside. I was a pretty easy job and now I have 2awg wire in my 2000 Tiburon..

WTF why would you run it where you can see it and where it can get damaged? Run it thru the firewall, then under the carpet up above the pedals across to the side of the car, THEN to the doorsills or else just down the center under the carpet and console...
