I have a 2k tiburon

Alright, my whats suppose to be a 3rd gen rx7 fuel pump came in, its like twice the size of my stock fuel pump and instead of a plastic connector, it has two poles, which look like you wrap the positive wire around one and negative around the other and clamp them down with two nuts.. Is this safe? wont exposed eletrical wires cause a problem in a tank fuel of gas?

DO NOT put the unexposed wires in your tank!
One spark and you are dead!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are saying this thing is submerged or something and it has juice of course it will blow.<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

I don't think it will spark while being submerged in gasoline. Although it does sound somewhat unsafe.

Hmm...if the old one was like that, then I would assume you should be fine. Or maybe try getting a real mechanic to do this one.

It may be worth the piece of mind.

yeah. not really...

gas needs to be compressed before the sparkplug fires and combustion begins.

i dont think that gas is THAT volatile, but i dont think it would be a very good idea. i second the idea about looking at the rx7 and seeing how it's hooked up there, and then taking that and applying that to your tib

Its in, its been running good. I talked to a mechanic friend, he gave me two bits of useful info. 1, gas burns and normall does not explode. 2, the gas tank is normall sealed, and so no air will be in for a fire or explosion to occur.

Because, the gas burns, the vapors explode.
And I also looked over the old pump well, and the old one had explosed clips in the gas. I also checked out a rx7 homepage and looked at there, they covered it in a rubber coating, thats all.

Which is what I amgoing to do this weekend, I got some shrink wire, coating to put on it, also I wanna fix my bobber.
