What were the production years for the S coupe and Excel? Also, what were the horsepower ratings for them? Thx!!<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Excels the X-1 I believe started in 84, on to 89, and the X-2 from 90 to 94. I don't know much about the X-1, but the X-2 produces 81 HP and 92lbs of torque.

The Excel X-1 started in 86-89. The engine was a 1468cc, 1.5L carbed SOHC four. It makes roughly 68hp(although I've seen charts that say 77 at the rear of the transmission with all accessories ON) and it makes 84 lb-ft of torque.
Hey, does anyone know if an instrument panel from a GLS/GS model(tach) would fit a GL with ease? I have a clock but I would like a factory tach. Its an 86-89 model. Any imput would be appreciated!
First gen Scoupe's used same 1.5 8v motor that the Excel used, producing 82Bhp. Then in 1992 got Hyundai's own Alpha 12v motor. Normally aspirated this produced 88 Bhp and in Turbo form 115Bhp.
Scoupe production ran from 1990 -1995.
