I am researching what scan tool to buy, to read the trouble codes on my 1997 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I want to buy a scan tool that hooks up to my laptop. I would like recommednations on scan tools and software that people have found to work well for them? Thanks.

Go to www.digimoto.com . They have good products and customer service. They also sell on ebay, or at least they did last time I checked.

I recently bought the one from Scantool.net

I didn't get the complete kit, just the chip, OBD II cable and the PCB board. I put the rest together myself and used their software that you can download for free. I don't have any troublecodes so I can't tell if that works yet, but it is reading all the sensor data.
