i'm seriously starting to hate this damn fast and furious movie. the cops are friggin EVERYWHERE now trying to save all the dumbasses that have decided that streetracing is a cool idea from themselves. i know i had my plates ran 10 times in the last two days just because i have an import with an exhaust.

knoxville's also started using a 2nd generation turbo eclipse to draw people into streetracing, and i don't even know if that's legal. isn't that entrapment or something?

to quote NWA: **** tha police!

and **** the dumbasses that are ****ing up my scene.

I am not going to slam people for street racing cause I have been known to do it myself. But the police are just doing their job. As far as the entrapment thing, if you ever get caught that way then get a good lawyer cause it might be. For now just don't race an Eclipse.
If the cops pull you over to run your plates and you are not doing anything illegal get their name and badge # to report them.

I knew this would happen. It is like little kids who go see a Kung Fu movie. Afterwards they are suddenly black belts. Hahaha lol

I know what you mean....
I Street Race, but respectivly. I have done it for years. I only race if I think it would be worth getting a Ticket. I don't race just anyone like all the dumb a$$es out here that think they are Street Racers now. I keep getting rev'd at by stupid idiots that think they are all hard. When are they gonna learn, you can't mess with Real Street Racers! I just act like I'm stupid...and take off really slow. There are way too many cops looking for racers out here now. Hopefully it will end soon...

FWIW, you absolutely have to piss me off to get me to race you, i'm not the type to go 'round revving my engine at everything on the road (although, since i heel-toe downshift all the time a lot of people think i am). the police ARE just doing their jobs, and if they want i'll gladly help them chase down everybody in my area that takes unneccesary risks while they're racing (i.e. racing in traffic, racing in bad weather, etc).

perhaps i shouldn't be so upset at the police for hassling me as i should be at the dumbasses that are making necessary?

I heard that sometimes cops around Vancouver sit in Subaru's with bigger spoilers and wait for people to rev on them. hehe

I don't street race cause I don't have a fast car and I've only been driving for 3 years. I want to learn how to race from a racing school and do some Solo II racing or something like some of you guys do.

My cousin did some Solo II and rally, sounded like fun. He had a 94 celica gt-s and kinda messed it up. Now he has a 2001 Accent.

Who needs street racing to get into trouble? I had my 2001 for only 2 months before I lost my license with it. Can this one year suspension seem any longer

I hear ya man...I regret driving so fast these past two years, cause the tickets have caught up with me. My insurance just found out about the last two and have told me that they are going to drop me in two months (that is as far ahead as I have paid), I have been to defensive driving school already (which you can only go to once in three years, and drops off about 6 points off of your license). I have been looking for new insurance, and as soon as I turn 19 (in two months) the best rate that I can find is about 350 a month...and that is absolutely luck that I found that. One of the rates that I was quoted was 13,000 a year...no that is not a typeo...that is actually over 1000 dollars a month. I have learned my lesson...I am buying an active radar jammer...cause I will never stop racing...BWAHAHHAHA...but seriously stay safe guys...

yeah jgramhm...That is a lot of tickets! I have a clean record and haven't been pulled over in a year and a half. The Elantra has the potential to go fast with the powerful engine its equipped with but the tires can't handle it. Maybe 15s would be better, as in the new elantra and wider for improved handling. My land speed record is 135mph. I even got pulled over 2 times in one week for going 20mph over the speed limit and talked my way out of it. Some good excuses: You have diarrhea and have to go...new shoes and are heavy in the sole...left the dog home alone for hours....etc.

I think the problem was that once you get a ticket...cops generally wont hesitate to give you more to make you learn your lesson. I was basically screwed from the first time I got my ticket...

Damn man, when I got my ticket, the dialogue went like this:

Cop: "Ever had a ticket?"
Me: "Yeah."
Cop: "When?"
Me: "'Bout a year ago."
Cop: "For what?"
Me: "Same thing." [laughter]
Cop: "You think that's funny?"
Me: "Kinda, yeah."

After that he didn't say anything, but I still ended up walking out with an easy ticket .

Thank God I live in a hick town. The cops here think the Fast and the Furious is a new brand of laxative. Jeez, everyone here is still driving around in mid 80's mustangs, wearing those old wrap around, rainbow mirror Oakely's that only Major League Baseball Coaches still wear.....lol

lerz, that's hilarious, I live in a rather backwards town in Canada too, half the guys drive camaros or mustangs and the other half drive pickup trucks. Actually, I do live relatively close enough to Toronto that the import scene is starting to come this way. I saw a Civic SiR tonight that would make anyone look twice, damn it was nice, and a Prelude that came up into the parking lot beside it and when it stopped the air shocks decompressed and the car fell to the bottom of its suspension one corner at a time, I believe that would look very nice on my Accent Gsi. However with all the double lane streets around here, the police are always on the prowl. I learned every preferred hiding place of theirs and had 6 years of not getting caught and then one little incident on the highway and I get to drive my Accent again next January....ugh

Is there a sweeter sound than a high-revving engine?
