you are going to have to tap off of the corner lights(turn signals) in the front of the car.

This way they will always be on and when you put your turn signal on they will flash also.

tapping means splicing the wire and connecting another wire to it.

The procedure is pretty straight forward.
run the wires through the fender, until you reach an opening in the inner fender. Once brought through, splice the wire for the turnsignals and connect the wires of your sidemarkers.

Make sure that you connect the wiring properly. Posative to posative, negative to negative.

As for installing the sidemarker unit it depends on the style you have. Usually you will need to drill 3 holes in the fender. @ small holes to screw the sidemarker to the fender. One larger hole to run the wireing through.

If you are uncertain on how to do this then bring it to a place to have done. This is not a job where you want to make a mistake. You could leave your fender looking like a mess.

good luck

You can buy taps at any auto place or electronics place. The positive wires for the indicator are green, each side has a different color stripe, I think one side is green on side black, use a continuity tester to be sure, cause my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Also make sure to put some kind of silicone or weather proof sealant on the back and screw holes to prevent rust. Use stainless screws for long life.

I put APC clear side markers on my Excel and we tapped into the corner light (not a turn signal) so they run at all times, the front turn signal was a double element bulb so we couldnt' splice it and the side marker was a single element. Anyways. We drilled the wholes in the side and used an appoxy silicon for boats (My dad builds yachts) Fishing the wire was the hard part. Also make sure when you drill you don't go into anything on the other side. I had my antenna bracket behind there and the side marker just missed it.
