So I get home right, with new plugs and a new pcv valve cause mine was clogged, so I go to loosen the valve and it snaps off, I had not even turned it very hard and SNAP, right off flush with the valve cover. So, that was fun, now I have a gob of electrical tape on the hole and over the hose to seal off the connection. Great, so is this gonna hurt my engine, I know the function of it is to expel excess gas from the engine and re-deposit it to the intake system for re-use but now that its gone what are the reprocussions I can expect from blocking this. Taking the valve cover off is a no go cause the bolts are rusty and im not snapping those off. Well thats my new problem. Rudy whats your email cause I am selling my BBTB probably.
PEACE!

Dizzam Shaun. You did a good job on that one .

What you could try doing is buying one of those APC "breather filters" from Pep Boys or a local rice shop and just taping that on there for now until you can afford to replace the valve cover.

lol, thx rob . Im not too proud of that moment but I didn't loose my cool on it. I found out how much a new valve cover is gonna be, only 112.00 so thats no problem at all. Funny though, I wanted to do a tuneup before I went up north to do some mountain hiking but messups like this happen to me alot so im used to it. My first expression was like, oh did it pop off that easy, then I saw what was in the socket and my face turned white and fear came over me, but I didn't scream, only on the inside . Oh well, at least I will have a new valve cover, I can paint it this time.

For those of you who drilled out the hole and re-tapped it, what size tap did you use? I could only find a 8.25 x 1.25 and I think I need a 8 x 1.0 instead, metric I assume. Sears didn't have the right size and none of the tap sets have thread gauges for some reason :( so I had to epoxy the hole shut for now, just hope this isn't going to cause havoc with my engine. If no one can give me a alternative with the correct tap to use then I guess I gotta hunt down a new valve cover :( :( :(
