ok a short ram intake does work better than stock... but if ur looking for hp then you wont like the short ram... if you like a torquier feel then the short ram is for you.... you will notice a huge difference.
a 10 degrees celcius drop in temperature results in roughly a 1.5% increase in power.
When I installed a short ram intake thing on my accent I avg. .1-.2 at better in the 1/4 than just a K&N drop in. :ermm:
The short ram really does work, also on my old car's setup my intake temps were near ambient at anything above 15mph. Remember the engine bay is not a sealed box, especially in our cars, and there's plenty of fresh cool air coming in.
heh i tried cold air and short ram and now ive got a secret weapon...home made... intake that works better than either of them...

yea whats the secret lets see

ok so i will try the short ram because on kandn's website for a 57i kit for the lc2 they just have a short ram with flex tube running up to the filter and its about 4 inches away from it and i emailed them and they said they do not sell ne thing that doesent work how it was designed and guess the price..............257.00

i got mine for 30 plus the cost of the k and n filter total....... 75.00 smae thing as k and n's
He's using a 2 filter setup, with a Y-pipe. Ones mounted in the stock-box location the other is mounted right by the hood opening. Ha Ha spilled the beans.
That's not a bad idea...like a hybrid intake. I just bought a cone filter off my buddy that fit around the stock TB to airbox hose perfect, then just used a hose C-clamp. I left the bottom 1/2 of the airbox mounted there so the cone just sits right in it. Sounds soooo much better. And when I floor it you can hear a vacuum-type effect with all of the air rushing in.
that sounds like it would work but as soon as i figure out what the **** is going on with my engine i will put in the short ram with the flextubing running from the bottom fo the grill to the filter
