I plan to buy a Hyundai Accent 2001 GS model, and when trying one car at the dealer, I noticed that the dash lights are not working. Same thing for the trunk rear light. The dealer said it's just a blown fuse or light, nothing serious.

But I read a lot on the forum these past few days and I noticed a lot of topic about blown rear light, blown dash light, contact melted, relay melted, etc.

I would like to know if electrical problem is common with the hyundai accent?

Or it just need maintenance sometime and nothing serious?

I've never had a problem, and I would say Hyundais are at least above average in electrical wiring/circuitry quality.

Diodes in the fuse box melt, they cannot carry enough. They have been updated and the few accents i have seen with that problem never had it again. Don't be worried.
