On my accent '97, to the side of the steering column, where you can change the contrast of your dials etc. Above that panel is a socket/ plug, type thing.
It's a **** explanation, I know. But what's it for?
i wondered the same thing when i waz installing or my uncle waz, my switch to fog lights, but since i deffinatly know wut it is i just couldnt think of it right away before i read last post befor mine.

That is the port for OBD II. Not only does it allow the dealer to run diagnostics it also allows them to change minor settings in the ECU. If you can get a OBD II Diagnostics computer you too can do this.
