Well, last Monday my car went up on the dyno again for a pleasant confirmation on power increases. Our best run was 6hp at the wheels, and a bump in torque with a nice flat torque curve. The car had not cooled as much on the last run, so the official sheet will show 5 hp at the wheels on a fully stock (no mods, and stock 14" alloys, Uniwobble tires, etc...) '98 Accent 1.5l SOHC. The car feels great, and the idle quality is very good for a 262 degree cam.
I am having a second head built for spring to swap the cam into, and am going with a modified Tib TB, port matched and polished intake manifold, HVE or SR header (undecided), 2" mandrel bent exhaust w/high flow cat, and a UR crank pulley. Depending on availability of an adjustable cam pulley, I may have to get one made to compensate for the slight shave of the head (although I'm hoping UR beats me to it!).

nice one. I reckon you should see a fair bit more from the cam once you have all those other mods in.

If your in a stick, RPW will make a vernier cam gear out of the stock item like they did on my 4G61. Not as light as an a/mkt alloy set but strong and reliable (no slipping) all the same.

Out of curiosity, what was the total and base hp?

DYNOJET 74.4hp/79.8hp stock cam/HySpeed cam.

xlr8,
Thanks for the info on the cam sprocket. I have a local company that did the head work on my friends Alpha, who will make adjustable sprockets. I have a spare, so I will toss it to them to make while I work on the other head.
