I've been trying to install a short shifter, but i havven't been able to take out the two nails that hold the plastic cover to remove the old shifter, if somebody please know how to do it, how to take the nails out please write me back

pictures would make this thread alot more useful to you. i am assuming that you dont have some circlips or something removed.

when all the plstics are removed, there is a plastic casing for the shift bar, the casing hs 2 pins, one easy to remove with a screwdriver, but the other doesn't come off, is were the springs are located, the screw has no treath, and there is a nut, but is a washer with some teeths holding the screw, thats what i can't take out
