my elantra stock used to light second gear and chirp third if i got the tires mooshy enough.....scares the HELL out of any VTEC, since they can only spin number one and chirp number two stock...VTEC makes it so if you wanna play, you have to have it tached up to like 4500 RPMs...(i think thats where thier powerband starts correct me if im wrong) as opposed to the stock BETA's 3450-5500 powerband so we get a lot more grunt at low RPMS due to the higher displacement blah blah blah....hence why hyundais spin second.

Actually we get our torque due to the longer stroke vs the honda. Yes, the increase in displacement helps, but a tibby makes 110 Ft Lbs of torque at 2500 RPM. The prelude 2.2 L motor is barely making 75 ft Lbs at that point.
We have torque because we have a long stroke. They rev high because they have a short stroke. we make Torque down low, they make HP up high. Two different approaches to engine design.
