Hey everybody!
Tell us about your system, Or your future plans for one.

I have Four subs and Two tweets. It hits pretty hard. I wanna buy a new deck sometime during the summer after I get my JT Body Kit. I'm not too sure what kind I want yet. Any suggestions?

Let's see....I have a stock Hyundai tape player, stock speakers up front and stock speakers in the back <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>.

As for what brand to go with, I've always preferred Rockford Fosgate for subs/amps and MBQuart for components.

I drive a slow car.

Well I have Pioneer Deck 4100 Series, Pioneer and Alpine are awesome decks but will cost you a pretty penny, My deck was lik 400 Bucks on sale, All I have is a Mtx 250 amp and a Thunder 8000series 12inch woofer with a sealed box, Thats basically all you need, It hits so hard I had a headahce after 5 minutes

Buying the right stuff is important, You could have like 4 cheap woofers and a powerfull amp and still sound like ****, MTX is most recommended for awesome sounds and bass, I also have two EL 525s Bazookas for my tweeters, good for being loud!. If you want bitchin sound get mtx, But it will cost ya!

I have a Kenwood DPX 400 Head Unit.
It is a double DIN unit with a built in EQ.
It matches my interior perfectly.
It was $500.
I have a PPI Designer Series 600 Watt Amp ($900)
and 2 12" Soundstream SPL 12's in a custom sealed box.
I bought that used off of a friend for $250.
I have a Lightning Audio 1 farad Capacitor ($100)
I had to buy that because when I hooked up my amp, it drained the **** out of my battery.
My headlights would go off when i turned it up.
Most amps rate thier power by the max power, but my amp puts out continuous 600 Watts.
I just bought a Soundstream SVX2 Crossover for $60 off Ebay.

Basically, I have a prettty loud system.
I want to get MB Quart 6.5 components and Pioneer 6x9's and a 200 Watt PPI amp too.
Then, my system will be complete.

I have a 15 in. Cerwin Vega Subwoofer and a 1000 watt Vega amp in the truck and 2 5 1/4 Vega's on the deck and 4 in. Vega components in the doors, it's all tied into a Kenwood CD head unit. It is so loud my girlfriend refuses to ride with me anymore. I just have to remember to keep my sunroof open so I don't loose my windows (it recently hit at 142 dbl) It's pretty cool.

Hmm...let me see I have a Kenwood D-mask Headunit, stock front and rear speakers, 2-10" MTX subs and MTX 250 watt amp.

Future plans include upgrading the front and rear speakers, and possibly getting 1 or 2 12's to go along with my 10's. Or just swapping the 10's for 2 8's and 2 12's. Or maybe just maybe 2 more 10's um my mind is going crazy <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle> I'm done.

Don't ask me what I hit because I have no idea. The only thing I know is that the car is set up for not only SPL, but SQ+ also (sound quality). I can turn the volume all the way up with absolutely zero distortion from any speaker or sub inside. It's pretty loud, and I don't know how well I would do in a competition, but I like it and that's what counts. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well, I probably have the most basic system in my car. I have the stock stereo (Premium stereo upgrade w/ two 5 1/4s and 1" tweeters in the front and 6x9s in the back) I then wired a Kenwood 600 watt amp right to the factory unit along with a Pioneer Premier 10" sub in a Qlogic box. It sounds good. I got tired of the thug look...I use to have 2 10s in a bandpass enclosure and all it did was make noise so people on the outside can hear it. It had that muddy type of bass. So I split the stereo up and put one sub in the Elantra and the other sub in my Jeep Cherokee. I also changed the box from a bandpass to just a normal enclosure...Now its a tight clear bass.

If anyone is looking for good subs, I highly recommend Kickers or Pioneers. Rockford Fosgates suck. I blew out my first set...No wonder they were buy one get one free. LANTRA is right on about having 4 cheap subs...If you want good sound, you are going to have to pay for it. No way around it. Its like having hubcaps verse rims. From a distance, the hubcaps may look like rims just as hearing bass from a distance may sound cool. But up close you can tell they are crappy subs just as up close you can tell a car has hubcaps. That one Pioneer is just as loud as the 2 RFs I had yet has a much clearer sounding bass.

JIBBER686...How are those American Pro subs? The reason I ask is that I was in Chinatown in New York City looking for cheap car audio and they had American Pro 10s for $29.95 each! My friend was about to buy them after hearing them in the box...but something else. How do the 12s sound?
