Hey everybody!
Tell us about your system, Or your future plans for one.

I have Four subs and Two tweets. It hits pretty hard. I wanna buy a new deck sometime during the summer after I get my JT Body Kit. I'm not too sure what kind I want yet. Any suggestions?

I know this if off topic...

but verb01 says he's got vvt on his dohc.. wtf???

The best feeling is beating a Civic Si with an Accent!

Why don't you ask him directly?
I don't know the answer....

Impossible! I think you mistaken verb

Hyundai doesn't have Variable valve timing engines. (Well, not yet that is...who knows what the future will bring). Unless its some extrodinarily expensive after market job (and even then I dont think it can be done with the accent engine). But the DOHC part is right. 106 hp vs. 92 from the ugraded motor.

But when Hyundai does have some form of Variable Valve timing in their car (Hondas got VTEC, Toyotas got VVTI), then Honda will really have to head for the hills cause if we are already kicking their ass now, how much worse can they lose?

I eat Honda Civics for breakfast, Toyota Corollas for lunch, and Volkswagen Jettas for dinner
I have an alpine headunit and soon to add my kenwood 12" in a large ported box that really sounds good. I would eventually like to replace speakers with alpines also however that is going to be a while since I still have sales tax, payments, college tuition, and 3 months insurance due.

any one know how to fit a 6-1/2in speeker in a 5-1/4 port. I have a 2k1 accent gs

I'm going to get an in-dash cd player for my Tib, and have narrowed it down to two choices: The Blaupunkt Santa Fe or the Clarion DB415....Does anyone have any experience with these models?
Current plans are

HU - right now I have an Eclipse 5303R and Sony 910C, been considering a JVC or Clarion Mp3 Player though.

EQ - Phoenix Gold EQ232 dual 31 band

Xover - Phoenix Gold Mx3i 3way 24db

Amps - I have a ESX 120x4 and an Arc Audio 50x4 and Arc Audio 110x2. What I use depends on wehether front stage is 2way or 3way.

Highs - Image Dynamics CD1E Mini Horns
Mids/Midbass - Image Dynamics IDQ8DVC
Subbass - Image Dynamics IDQ10DVC

I have the doors heavily deadened now with 8s in there and horns under dash. It sounds AWESOME....gotta love bass up front!

Whole install is built around space saving. Subs in fiberglass enclosures in back side pockets. Amps and Processors on back of rear seats are recent plans. I may run DEI 4.s in the kickpanels too, for added imaging and so I can use the Xover to its fullest :)

Right now, our li'l Scoupe's just got a stock tape deck with crackly knobs, and stock speakers suffering from UV exposure - all the cone surrounds are breaking up.

In the not too distant future, I'm going to fit a Pioneer or Kenwood CD player along with new Polk speakers (4" co-ax up front, 6x9's on the rear shelf). Hey, the motors rated at only 81bhp , so I'm trying to keep the weight down until I can afford the B18C VTEC motor transplant!
I personally recommend Phoenix Gold for all your stereo needs. I have a pair of Coustic 12" Subs powered by a PG Sapphire 1.0 Amp. It only puts out 65 watts to each sub but i recently won second place in my power class with 145.4 db. Very loud, very clean.
I'm an idiot and spent like $1500.00 on my sound system. I definatly should've put that money into performance insted. I have two JL Audio 12" Subs in the trunk. (Was gunna get 15's but hey, it's an Accent. Not much room back there). To power them I bought a Crossfire 600W amp. I went with Kicker for the speakers, and I got a Pioneer head unit. It's definatly loud. I never compete, but I think maybe I should. I know it's nothing special but a friend of mine went to the local stereo competition with some kid that got 2nd place in the sound quality competition. He was riding around with me and said my system was better. Well that's what happens when you have money and get your first car, ya blow on stuff like that. Wish I had it to do over.
current system

Eclipse 7001 Power out video display
Eclipse 5961 Indash 6 disc changer
Focal PolyKevlar 5 1/4 Componets
2- Phoenix Gold 2300 amps
1 Kicker L7 8" sub...lightweightand 138 dB
HKS CAMP unit...displays gauges on video monitor

if you r about racing choose the kicker L7 8" in a ported box...Jay Burton (kickers head tech) and myself had dicussed the possibilities of an 8 in a ported box... the design hwe came up with allows u to have the bass of a 15" sub in a package that is no larger than an 8" bass tube..in most cars you can espect 137-140 dB measured to iasca standareds
I have a Sony Xplod head unit, stock speakers, 2 12" subs and a 450 watt amp. My neighbors hate it

Drive it like you stole it.
i used to have 2 mtx 15s in my trunk but i blew them so now i'm gonna get 2 cerwin vega stroker 18's and put em in the back seat with 2000 watts on each one
I have the Panasonic head unit (model #CQ-DF601U) with stock speakers, 2 12" speakers and a 500w amp
Ok, here's my system
Sony xplode head unit
Rockford fosgate 6.5in fronts
Cerwin-Vega 6x9 rears
Rockford Fosgate 250 watt punch amp
2 10" punch subs(no they don't suck...very nice in fact)
And a bandpass box for the subs

I'm cool...
Hey i know it's alittle late to post to this thread, but here's my system.

Pioneer DEH 8200R Head Unit w/remote
Pioneer MD7000 (Md Player & Spectrum Analyzer, looks really nice at night)
All Monster audio wires (RCA's, 8 gauge power, and remote)
2 - 12" Kicker CompVR subs in a ported box
Candence Q2000 amp (bridged for about 300watts)
All stock interior spk (for now, will be installing MB Quart interiors in the near future)
The system sounds great, probably not comp level when it comes to Db, but then again I don't compete, . Check out the Sound System pictures thread for pics.

Peace.

Thanx IR2. Kinda funny actually. I just picked up the car from the dealer on Monday, had the system installed (me and a friend did the install, took all damn day, lol) on Tuesday, and because of all that, it's now Friday and the damn car has over 400 miles on it. I think i drive too much....

Peace
