Situation: Car stutters and loses powerduring driving/ accelerating.

Info:
Fuel filter - Near new
Wires - Still good
O2 sensor - 'bout a year old
Gas - 87 oct. (we'll get to this)
Plugs - Stock (dunno part number offhand)

The spark plugs are whitish and blistered (car runs a little hot I guess) so they will be replaced.

I'm going to run the codes to see what the check light is saying but the question stands. This car should be fine on 87 octane, so why are the plugs running hot? Has Hyundai changed any of their heat ranges? I'm also wondering if this is due to the coil pack but I want to start with simple tuneup stuff first, whats the sense in spending $400 on a $4 problem. I normally put bosch in the car and I wanna hear your responses.

I dont wanna hear BOSCH 4's!!! or NGK. I know how awesome NGK's are but mom can't justify the price and 4's are just plain overkill.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Picked up standard bosch plugs (Look to be an 8, took out 5's), turned out the stuttering WAS the wires. Funny, the wires I pulled off looked pretty good too.
