Personally I have barely heard anything about either of those brands.

As far as quality speakers go, some of the best ones you are going to find are Boston Acustics, JL AUDIO-Evolution Series, and what I am running are MB Quarts. If you want to get the purest sound from your system, then these are the brands I recommend you take a look at, however these speakers can me a little costly, but well worth it!

In my opion there are two roads to travel 1) go high quality and get Image Dynamics Chameleons or Focal Kevlars 2) or go nice but highe end consumers stuff ie Infinity reference at the lowest. You would not be dissapointed by either of these two routes. The infinities are real effiecient too.

Speakers are speakers. They make sound. Just b/c you buy a $500 set of subs or components dosen't mean you are going to get concert quality sound. Its all in the enclosure, the amount of power you are supplying and the interior of your vehicle. Ex. I could buy a set of Focal Utopias (some of the best components in the world), power them with a Pyrmaid amp and in the factory location, and they would sound like ****!!! These components were made for onaxis listening. Speakersneedtobeon axis to get the best sound. Now I realize that several audio enthuist don't have the funds to purchase kick panels or high performance speakers but you can get some of the best sound with moderate speakers. One of the best sounding front ends I ever heard was in a Tiburon with a set of JL components. They were top of the line but averaged about $250 for the set. We sound deadened the car in the doors, put the comps in the factory location, mounted the tweeter in the factory grill, installed the crossovers in the map pockets, and supplied the speakers with 100 watts per side from a Cadence amp. These components come with a feature in the crossover to compensate for off axis listening. The end result was the cleanist sound I have ever heard! Another big no no in car audio is when people think they have to supply all the power to the woofers!! one should be worried about putting more power into their front end then the subs. Subs play distorition.... No matter how many watts you give them. Components play best when given a little more power than their RMS rating. The JL's I talked about were rated for 70 watts RMS but I gave them 100. The result was cleaner sound at louder volumes. I'll sum that up by saying I would rather put 1000watts in my front end than 1000 in my subs. If you put 1000 watts into your subs, how in the hell do you expect to hear anything in the front if you have a set of MB Quarts running off a 50watt amp?? The bass would cover up all the vocals. besides that, you couldn't turn the volume up 1/4 of the way without the components distorting. See where I'm going with this. Your front stage should be your first project being that it can be the hardest to master. You can always play with bass and make it as loud as you want whether it distorts or not. Anyway, I got a little exited there!! It all boils down to your personal preference. If you want to know what a speaker sounds like than go to a local shop and ask to hear those speakers. Don't base your decision on what the people tell you or how expensive the speakers are( if they are expensive then you think they will be awesome), and don't base you decision on how pretty the speaker is either. How in the hell are you going to see a chrome magnet inside of a box anyway??
