your cars can be drag limited, gear limited, ecu limited, etc etc. The auto 99/00 tibs and elantras were limited to 119 or 125 mph, now on H rated tired thats almost right to the limit of saftey but at least inside it. Guy don't try to get past 130 on H tires please , the feeling of having your tires loose grip is not nice and trust me it's dumb to. If you want to get past the limiter remember to change your tires first.

I never would exceed the speed rating on the tire however, I STILL want to know if I have a limiter on my 2002 5-speed Elantra. A limiter of 127 or so is reasonable, 115 is not, H rated means safe up to an including 130MPH. Still like I said, I probbably won't take it past 120 anyway more than once in it's life with me, if at all. But it would be nice to know. With my old Grand Prix SE, 108 was the limit and THAT is unreasonable, I had H rated tires on the car but it did come with cheap ass S rated tires (110MPH) originally.
