Is it possible to take a car with just a plain automatic, like the accent and elantra come, and put a sportshifter onto it?

This is something I've always kind of wanted to do with my accent. I'm just curious if its possibly and even more, semi affortable.

What exactly are you talking about? Like having the option to select your gears, like the manual-auto mode on some new models?

Or did you want faster shifts?

well then... umm, i have no clue. Sorries.. :nervous:

But i bet you'd have to get the shifter linkege, and reprogram the ecu of the tranny itself. Or get the ecu off the cool shifting one, plus its shifter, if its available for that car.

I guess anything is possible with enough money but I doubt you would find it worth while. Your better option is to swap to a manual transmission and upgrade to a short-shifter. Auto-Manual swaps are relatively common (not necessarily amongst Hyundai's). Take a look in the Hybrid forum for more info on the Auto-Manual swap, I'm pretty sure somebody around here has done it before.
