Everything I read about the concept hinted toward it being a beta II.
Plus you gotta remember that's $20,000 Canadian.Originally posted by bvtmattyc

it's nothing if it's just a 1.6 with a bodykit, rims, and I/E from factory. now if it's a beta...then we're talking.
all for under $20K... ?
I suppose that reasonable if it's a beta considering it'd basically be a lighter elantra/tiburon and a sleeper if tuned right.

Good morning,
Canada will be introducing a 2007 Accent SR this September.
The SR is going to be in essence an appearance package. The engine will remain the same. Final Specs. have not been released at this time.

Subject: Accent SR
Comments: Hello,
As a Hyundai enthusiast I have been closely watching any news I have seen about the Accent SR concept. I was reading the article in Canadian Driver (http://www.canadiandriver.com/roadtest/07accent_hatch.htm) which stated that the Accent SR will be coming to Canada in the fall as a Canadian-specific model. Is this true? Is the SR package going to be solely an appearance package? What will be different on the Accent SR than on the Accent GS Sport?
With the new competition the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris bring to the market Hyundai needs a model that will attract potential buyer's attention like the SR. I believe buyers would be more willing to spend their money on an Accent even if they won't spring for the SR just because the SR is available. I also plead that you make an Accent available with the Theta 2.0l or at the very least the Beta 2.0l engine. A mildly turbocharged Alpha 1.6l would be acceptable as well. I really think this would set the Accent apart from the growing field of competitors.
Thank you for your time,
Floyd

Getting a car from Canada is easy. you basicly just need a letter saying everything is DOT approved and the rest is pretty simple as far as I know.
